Description: The Von Ormy Solar Self-Storage project is a planned storage development in Von Ormy, Texas, near San Antonio, located at 6955 S Loop 1604W. The site is in both a federal energy zone and an opportunity zone, which could provide tax and investment advantages.

The project will include 396 total storage units across about 5.15 acres, with 238 solar-covered self-storage units and 158 solar-covered boat/RV storage units. The units will use modular, pre-engineered containers assembled on-site, with solar panels installed on top and connected to inverter cabinets for usable power.

The project is being developed through a collaboration between OZ Von Ormy, Covered Keeper Von Ormy, and Storage HQ, with Fortified Solar supplying the solar panels. The goal is to create a modern, energy-efficient storage facility that serves growing demand in the San Antonio area, especially from new housing growth, business activity, and increased need for secure vehicle and contractor storage.

Current progress: site preparation has started, grading has begun, the stop-work order was lifted after proper county permits were obtained, and site preparation is still ongoing
